About

I am originally from Grantham in Lincolnshire and spent over 30 years in Woodbridge, Suffolk working as a teacher.

Having taken early retirement in 2012, I began renovating La Belle Maison in 2014.

I’ve never been afraid of a challenge and have been documenting my renovations over on my blog ‘My French Haven’.

La Belle Maison welcomed its first guests in 2015, and the house has since been a popular Chambres d’Hotes in the picturesque Limousin, on the edge of the Plateau de Millevache.

What I really enjoy about living here is how it is always busy and there is never a dull moment! Eymoutiers is a lovely town of historical significance, with friendly people and lively markets. In recent years it has held several festivals, including music, literary and performance which have brought visitors from all over the world.

My son is a photographer and kindly took the photos of the house. He also has many photos of Eymoutiers for sale on his ‘Ingrey Captures’ etsy page should you wish to remember your visit. My favourite is the photo of the Medieval church at night.
